Welcome to my space to share… Gravel Road Living!
We all know that life as a working mom can often feel chaotic and overwhelming! So follow along for ideas to help add a touch of simple to your life… for you, your home and your family.
What I Love to Share…
- All things HOME – decorating, design, painting, organization & more
- DIY PROJECTS on a budget (I’ve had many DIY adventures!)
- GARDENING – My garden is my happy place.
- FAMILY – I’ve have survived littles and am now navigating the world of teens.
- WELLNESS – for adults and children.
- TEACHING & LEARNING – I’m a high school teacher and guidance counselor so my work inspires some of my posts.
- and a few Random Musings for good measure!
You’ll be glad to know that nothing here is perfect and I’m a fan of baby steps.
You never know what you can create along the way!
Why “Gravel Road Living?”
I’ve always loved a drive down a gravel road and especially the winding road that used to take me to my family’s cottage. A visit there always meant simple and cozy spaces, time outdoors, relaxation, family and great food! So this seems like a pretty perfect theme for my blog. 🙂
My Family
I am a mom to 2 fantastic kids, a daughter and a son. This means I am a homework helper, personal chef, hockey, basketball, volleyball and baseball mom, and frequent dollar store craft supply buyer. Like many of us, I spend a lot of time with a travel mug in hand, waiting for games to start, and when I can find the time, I dig into my personal passions and then write about them to share with you.
I also have a husband who, luckily for me, is a faithful helper and supporter of my DIY adventures.
My Background
I am a high school Business teacher and Guidance Counselor, with undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Education, and I worked my way through a Masters of Education degree while my children were small. You’ll find Posts in Gravel Road Living inspired by my work as a Teacher and Guidance Counselor.Â
Regardless of how busy life gets with work and family, I find I do best when I have a project on the go. I’m always on the lookout for simple, fun and new things to do and I have a bit of an addiction to painting!
Over the past number of years I’ve worked my way through my home, making over each room as I go, and always on a budget. I’m a believer in just getting started and taking little steps that add up over time.
So make yourself a cup of tea (or pour yourself some wine!) and follow along because I believe that doing things you love, and finding simple moments of calm and comfort each day, make life a little better.
Thanks for joining me. KJ 🙂
