Fall is my favourite season and I know I’m not alone!
Just for fun, here are 6 things I love about fall:
#1 Leggings, Plaid Scarves & Blundstones – Comfy and cosy!
#2 Scented Candles – I treat myself to a new candle each fall that reminds me of apple pie and cinnamon.
#3 Crisp, Sunny Days – Throw in a long walk and it’s a perfect day.
#4 Thanksgiving – My favourite family gathering & meal. Plus, I LOVE stuffing.
#5 Fall Fairs – Last year, we walked into our town’s little fall fair and my daughter lifted up her arms and said “This is exactly where I want to be!” Me too.
#6 Food Trucks – Perhaps this seems like an unexpected addition to my list but one of my local happy places, Heemans, has awesome food trucks on weekends. My kids think I’m going for mums, but little do they know I ate pierogies and mini donuts for lunch last Saturday.
Fall Crafts
Another fantastic thing about fall is it’s a great time for crafting and DIY. There are so many simple and fun ideas to try and I want to try them ALL.
This week I decided to create a new fall craft inspired by these cute burlap wrapped wine bottles that I found in 62 Best Fall Crafts to Help You Celebrate the Season, DIY-Style.
I think they will make lovely little gifts for some friends and family this Thanksgiving season.
Burlap Wrapped Wine Bottle
Supplies
Burlap Sheets
Ribbon
Stencils
Paint (I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint)
Paintbrush
Ruler & Pencil
Hot Glue Gun
and of course… Wine
Steps to Create a Burlap Wine Bottle Wrapper
Step 1 – Cut ribbon to fit length of burlap sheet.

I chose to add ribbon along the bottom and top of the burlap sheet. The sheets sit nice and flat so they are easy to work with.
Step 2 – Hot glue the ribbon onto the burlap sheet.
This step is super easy. Just place a bead of hot blue on the burlap and press the ribbon down.

Step 3 – Use a ruler to mark the centre of the sheet and draw a line in pencil to guide the placement of your letters.
I was able to erase any visible pencil lines after I stenciled the letters on.
Step 4 – Use letter stencils and paint to spell your choice of word(s) on the burlap.
I have quite a lot of chalk paint from my DIY adventures over the years and it’s always easy to work with when painting fabric.

Step 5 – Wrap the burlap around the wine bottle and hot glue it so that it wraps neatly around the bottle.
Tip: Start by hot gluing where the ribbons overlap because they hold together well.

Step 6 – Tie a ribbon at the top of the bottle.
Now, admire how cute it looks! It will make a rustic and unique gift for a friend or relative. 🙂

I made a special wrapper for my sister… she’s not a wine drinker but she loves an icy cold Diet Coke so I’ve got her covered!

Wishing everyone a wonderful fall full of sunshine, crisp mornings and plaid scarves! KJ 🙂
